The notions of alpha and release-candidate API versions, and the their related API version extensions, are INTERNAL to the CAMARA project and used only for the development and release management process.
The API version extension is added to the "version" field of the OAS definition of an API. Its , as well as to the URL (see below). Its content must follow the here described syntax and semantics.
